I have a friend who always expected a favour back from the people she did favours to. I explained to her that favours are returned in strange ways from strangers or unexpected sources.

I asked her to count her children’s good health and well-being, unexpected injection of funds, unplanned business sales, as favours from the universe, in response to the favours she has metted out to others.
